Every place you plant yourself is added to the dwelling of your soul

I was compelled by the slope and all who had trod here to find the point where the sand ended. My companion knelt in its warmth, happier to stay.

At my feet, this riotous field of small poems recite their ode to a pink hued gale force laugh.

While you attend this moment you are stretching time and space. Do not worry that your dwelling here will cause any debt in the future.

This morning breathes with ancient grace and begs a body quietude O She is sublimely stitched, each coloured thread divinely spun.

In looking I lost count of the colours I saw in the sand. Even the cloud who said it was a white billow was misrepresenting itself.

Every piece of light touches a memory shard. We are draped in a story cloak of our chapters

Something unspoken swirls away from me, leaves a dust outline where it once sat. Filters out, and sinks into the chilly moon soaked earth

The end of summer’s grace has Huron’s tousled hemline tangling our legs in her numbing froth

We speak of loneliness as if to rid ourselves of it. But it was while you were away that I discovered this exquisite melancholy of fall

Not so far from here, a tree draws a secret veil over a quiet path, the river and a rock that I’ve seen table as many as eleven turtles. I did not mark the tree with a heart but I do leave mine here on occasion

The sumac unwittingly or not grew itself into a chapel of stately branches topped by flaming vibrant torches. In between - the geometry of irregular panes of blue

Quick, find a tall ladder; sailing this tall cloud will be the only proper enterprise of this day

Fall coming on drops summer’s ease, chapter by chapter. We stand silent charting out way home. We know full well the travel plans of the sun…

I never remember what I know about the moon. Larger than any vessel to float its likeness, again I ask. how can a teaspoon serve the moon?

We’ve made our way here and met this September breath filtering dawn. I cannot be sanguine at the knee of the artist who wrote this light.

Then let us gift each other the sacred connection in, and work of, bearing witness for every ‘Me Too’

Where do the living strands go that we knit up between us on any given day? Sometimes dropped away in the dark, or picked up pearls of the next day.

If what you've come to believe in from the past tells you that you think you know what lies ahead, why not tell yourself a big beautiful lie and walk on?

I watched you witness the something lovely here and fall profoundly in love with this poetry of light.

Look avidly at the ordinary long enough that when you describe it, it becomes blessed with a brand new unnamed joy.

Sometimes the light is a kite with its tail in another land. Take a breath to go there...

Across the river, morning unfolds with a warm butter light, mist kittens trailing sleepily around her legs as she rises...

She stands in her wooden bones - proud limbs and branches... Maternal sentry pose, backlit by this autumn moon.

I dove into a hollow on the water that the light made. In my wake floated a poem.

The wind goes where it wants…
I will always be your 3am kite string.

I can not fix any of this. I can only press to your shoulder and point to where light and beauty persist.

Something of the autumn has me in the dirt, lashing feathers and sticks and fragrant beeswax to my keening bones.

To truly see is to bear witness with a willingness to be changed by what we observe

While you were fixed on this star that you named to blink, a million others opened to you in their old light
